Terms of Service
The rules of the road for using MicMap.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MicMap compliance management platform (“Service”), operated by Citadene Technologies (Pty) Ltd (“MicMap”, “we”, “us”). By signing up or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to bind the company you are registering on behalf of. MicMap is designed for South African transport operators and businesses.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure. Enable two-factor authentication if possible.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Notify us immediately at support@micmap.co.za if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. Subscription & billing
- The Service is billed monthly in advance at the rate displayed on the pricing page, in South African Rand. No VAT is charged.
- Payments are processed by PayFast. We do not store your card details.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that fail to pay after a 7-day grace period.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload documents containing malware, illegal content, or content you do not have the right to share.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass platform security.
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or violate the rights of others.
- Upload personal information of individuals without the lawful basis to do so under POPIA.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of all documents and data you upload (“Your Content”). You grant MicMap a limited licence to host, store, and process Your Content solely to provide the Service. We do not use Your Content for marketing, AI training, or any purpose other than what you instruct.
6. No verification of authenticity
MicMap tracks the expiry dates and metadata you supply. We do not verify the authenticity, validity, or current legal standing of any document you upload. You remain solely responsible for ensuring that all compliance documents are genuine, current, and lawfully issued. MicMap is a tracking tool, not a legal certifying authority.
7. Service availability
We strive for 99.5% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform scheduled maintenance, ideally outside South African business hours. We will not be liable for any losses caused by downtime.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
- MicMap is not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profit, loss of business, or compliance fines.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. On termination we will, on request, provide an export of Your Content for 30 days before permanently deleting it (subject to any legal retention obligation).
10. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
